Dynamic Britt Signs With Rams For 2021

The Wheeler Motor Company Canterbury Rams are excited to welcome back Taylor Britt for the Sal’s NBL 2021 season and his 5th season with the Rams.

Taylor had a standout Sal’s NBL Showdown, helping lead the Rams to a semi final spot and averaging 20 points, 4 assists and 6 rebounds a game. This strong play and potential gave Taylor the opportunity to re-sign with the Perth Wildcats, after winning an ANBL championship with them last season.

Taylor is currently in Perth training and preparing for the upcoming ANBL season. The success Taylor has had as a part of the Rams, representing New Zealand as a Tall Black, and playing in the one of the best leagues in the world in the ANBL is lighting a path for young basketballers.

Taylor is a local boy, who went to school at Papanui High, played for various Canterbury Rep Teams and was a part of the Mainland Eagles Academy. He also played in the US on college scholarship before returning to New Zealand in 2017. To be able to watch and learn from Taylor is inspirational for kids who want to follow in his footsteps and that look up to him.

To have the electrifying guard back on the court at Cowles Stadium in 2021, is great for Rams Head Coach Mick Downer who commented on Taylor’s return.

“We are wrapped to have Taylor commit to coming back to the Rams team after his Aussie campaign. Taylor is a focal point of our locker room, a leader and a menace on the court with his speed and play making ability. We hope he has a great experience again with the Perth Wildcats and is fit, healthy and raring to go for the Rams on his return,” said Downer.

Britt is the fourth addition to the Rams 2021 squad with Jack Salt, Joe Cook-Green and Quintin Bailey already signed.

“I’m super excited to be back with the Rams for another season and I love that I get to represent Canterbury and my hometown again! Looking forward to getting back on the court with my teammates after my time in Australia” Taylor said.
