Jets’ Danny Pippen II Fined

Jets forward Danny Pippen II has been fined $125 for his on-court actions against the Wellington Saints in Round 14 on Saturday night.

Pippen II was involved in an incident during the second quarter which resulted in a disqualifying foul where he was ejected from the game.

As per the NBL Rules Regulation 17.7, When a player or a member of the coaching staff is disqualified from a League game, the League Manager will immediately refer the incident to the Game Review Panel (Tribunal Policy) or the Judicial Officer for consideration of further penalties or sanctions (note Game Disqualification noted as GD on the scoresheet, as a result of technical or unsportsmanlike fouls does not constitute disqualification)

This incident was referred to the Game Review Panel (GRP) and it was determined that his actions were a classifiable offence as outlined in the Tribunal Policy:

Attempting to strike, kick or trip

1st Offence: $250 (early plea $125)

2nd Offence: $500 (early plea $250)

3rd Offence: $750 (early plea $375)

Pippen II took the early plea and will be available to play in tonight's game against the Canterbury Rams at Fly Palmy Arena.
