The Go Media Otago Nuggets added to what had already been a long weekend for the EnviroNZ Bulls, toppling the visitors 104-64.
Points were again hard to come by for the Bulls on the second stop of their South Island road trip, and another flat start but them behind the eight ball from the jump.
The hosts star trio of Sam Timmins, Isaiah Moss and Geremy McKay were all on top of their game this afternoon as each of them took turns picking apart the defence through the four periods.
McKay started the hottest of them all with eight first-quarter points, followed closely by six from Timmins. The big man had more of a presence under his own basket though, playing a big role in keeping the Bulls to nine points in the opening spell.
Moss took the reigns in the second with 15 points, leading his side to an extra 34 points before the close of the half. The Bulls bounced back from their early slump with 28 in the quarter, only the deficit was still a hefty 20.
Timmins top scored in the third with eight but as he’d done in the first, he was more trouble for the Bulls on defence – keeping them to nine points once again.
