The opening round of the Sal's NBL men's season is just two months away and with the weeks ticking by the number of player signings is starting to accelerate.
The latest big-name recruit is Rhys Vague, the popular Aussie is returning to the Mike Pero Nelson Giants and looks set to build on his impressive 2019 season with coach Mike Fitchett and his Giants teammates.
Another recent prized signing was Kyle Adnam, another Australian and a former Giant himself, but his return to New Zealand will see him head to the Wellington Saints where he is expected to take over from Shea Ili as the reigning champs' floor general.
Adnam was a standout in the League when last on New Zealand shores and is set to be one of the hottest commodities again this time around.
Arguably the biggest name to drop over the last week was Jack Salt, the young Kiwi star confirming he will be in a Wheeler Motor Company Canterbury Rams uniform.
Salt made history last year as he became the only native New Zealander to win an NCAA Division 1 Championship with the University of Virginia! Salt signed with the Virginia Cavaliers and made his debut in 2015, where he spent a lot time with his good mate Isaiah Wilkins, former University of Virginia athlete and 2019 Rams player.
And according to League GM Justin Nelson a number of other player announcements are expected soon.
"We have a few player agreements we have ticked off and the teams involved are just preparing their announcements, so yes I do expect some more player news very soon, probably in the next few days."
