All four quarters comfortably sat with the Saints;

33-22, 25-18, 29-19, 24-13

Nick Kay (19pts, 19rbs, 7ast) and Shea Ili (28pts, 6ast) dominated the contest, ably backed up by four other teammates in double digits. Collectively, the Saints dropped 26 dimes and scored 28pts from turnovers, a telling stat against Manawatu's 4pts from mistakes incurred by the Saints.

Such was Wellington's dominance all 12 players hit the court and only Reuben Te Rangi topped 30 minutes of action.

Disappointingly the 39pt loss came on the back of a 43pt loss to the Southland Sharks last week.

Jets - Shane Temara 17pts & 10rbs, Wally Ellenson 17pts, Taane Samuels 14pts.

Stats That Matter - the Saints dominated across the board, but a whopping 28pts scored off Jets' turnovers was telling.

TAB MVP Votes - Shea Ili (Saints) 10, Nick Kay (Saints) 6, Reuben Te Rangi (Saints) 4, Taane Samuel (Jets) 4, Shane Temara (Jets) 4, Jordan Ngatai (Saints) 2.

Talking Points

  1. More of the same for the Saints. This win looked effortless as they won all four quarters easily and coasted to the line, getting some minutes into 12 players in the process as they warm-up for the Final 4.
  2. The Jets continued to show that they are either very competitive or completely out of contest. Two massive losses in a row aren't a true reflection of how good the Jets have been at times this season, but for now it appears as though they are staggering to the finish line.
  3. When Nick Kay and Shea Ili fire the Saints are simply unstoppable. The team's inside-outside game is sublime and right now they look unbeatable ..... oh hand on, they are! Thats' 16 straight win for the title favourites.
