SAL’S NBL CLARIFIES ENDING OF RAMS VS. HAWKS

The Sal’s National Basketball League (Sal’s NBL) has clarified the decision regarding the ending of the Canterbury Rams versus Hawke’s Bay Hawks Play-In Game 1 On Thursday, July 20.

Leagues Referees Manager Ken Coulson:

“On the final possession of the fourth quarter, no violation was called by any referee on the final shot, and as a result, this could not be referred for review by the IRS as per FIBA Rule F.3.2.”

When the game clock shows 2:00 minutes or less in the fourth quarter and in each overtime …Whether a goaltending or basket interference violation was called correctly.­ - FIBA Rule F.3.2.

“Due to this, the referees had made the correct call as per IRS guidelines and the game went to overtime,” said Coulson.

The Canterbury Rams went on to win in overtime 103-95 and will move on to play the Otago Nuggets in Saturday’s semi-final.
