Josh Cunningham Replaces Daniel Alexander At Southland

The SIT Zero Fees Southland Sharks have made a move four weeks from their opening game of the 2021 Sal's NBL season with American power forward Josh Cunningham on his way to New Zealand.

Cunningham replaces fellow American Daniel Alexander on the team’s 2021 roster after their original signing recently advised the team he was unable to travel to New Zealand due to family circumstances.

Cairns Taipans Sign Hyrum Harris

The number of Kiwis in the Australian NBL has risen to 20 following the news on Good Friday that Hyrum Harris has been snapped up by the Cairns Taipans as an Injury Replacement Player (IRP).

It's thought to be the highest number of New Zealanders involved in the ANBL in a single season.

Harris played for the Property Brokers Manawatu Jets in 2020 and had recently signed to play for the Taylor Hawke's Bay Hawks this year.

Criteria for the 40in40 is based primarily on a player’s performance in the league, and secondarily on their contribution to the league during their time as a player.

The next 10 players have been announced, occupying positions 30 down to 21.

Houston Rockets Sign Huskies Import Armoni Brooks 

The Sky Tower Auckland Huskies American star Armoni Brooks has signed a two-way NBA contract with the Houston Rockets, effective immediately.

Brooks was preparing to board a flight to Auckland when he received the call from the Rockets. The chance to start his NBA career means the Huskies will now look to replace Brooks.
