A little over a week into 2020 and none of the eight Sal's NBL men's teams are resting, in particular the coaches and recruiters who are feverishly working away on meeting with players and hoping to land their key targets.
In the coming fortnight a number of player signings are set to be announced, with the Hawke's Bay Hawks and Nelson Giants about to start cranking up their news feeds. Like the Hawks and Giants, the Taranaki Mountainairs and Manawatu Jets are yet to name any players, but that could all soon change.
The Southland Sharks still lead the way right now with five players signed, while the Wellington Saints have locked in four players, as have the Canterbury Rams. Both the Sharks and Rams are the only teams to have announced an import - Jarrad Weeks (Sharks) and Jaye Crockett (Rams).
Amongst the announcements to date, a number of players have switched teams, including;
Leon Henry (was Saints / now Bulls)
Luke Aston (was Rams / now Bulls)
Dane Brooks (was Airs / now Sharks)
Taane Samuel (was Jets / now Saints)
Finn Delaney (was Giants / now Saints) - note, didn't play a game in 2019
