
The Sal's NBL MVP award is presented to the player judged to be the Most Valuable Player of the Sal’s NBL regular season (home and away games only; excludes the Final 6).
Across the 1 6rounds of the regular season, after each game the head coaches of both teams (11 head coaches in total across the League) submit votes on a 5-4-3-2-1 for players from both teams. These votes are collated to produce the season-long MVP Leaderboard.
At the conclusion of Round 16, the top 10 players on the MVP Leaderboard advance to the final vote, which is decided by a panel of 16 people: the 11 Sal’s NBL head coaches and five media representatives – Casey Frank, Taylah Johnson, Krystal Leger-Walker, Andrew Mulligan and Mike Lacey.
In the event of a tie for 10th place on the Leaderboard, all players tied in 10th move through to the final vote. Each voter must allocate their votes from 10 down to 1 (10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1), with 10 being the highest. If there are more than 10 finalists due to a tie, voting extends accordingly so every finalist receives a vote.
Should two or more players finish with the same total in the final voting voters will be asked to vote between those tied.
