Rangers Land NBA Guard Tim Quarterman

Former NBA guard Tim Quarterman is the latest signing to be unveiled by 2 Cheap Cars Supercity Rangers ahead of the 2019 Sal’s NBL season.

Quarterman enjoyed stints with the Portland Trail Blazers (2016-17) and Houston Rockets (2017-18) playing a total of 21 NBA games – his best performance being 10 points for the Trail Blazers against the New Orleans Pelicans in April 2017.

The 1.98m guard most recently played in the Israeli Premier League for Ironi Nahariya, the same club that Corey Webster played for in 2018.

Following his career at Louisiana State University, where he spent three-years playing 98 games, Quarterman joined the Charlotte Hornets for the 2016 NBA Summer League.

Supercity Rangers Head Coach Jeff Green believes Quarterman will be a hit with the home supporters.

“Tim is a long athletic guard who can score and set up other players around him. He went to a high caliber NCAA Division I college and has played in the NBA so I’m sure our fans are going to enjoy watching him play.

“Alongside Nnanna Egwu and Venky Jois we have an exciting trio of restricted players to accompany our local talent,” Green added.

The 2 Cheap Cars Supercity Rangers will open the Sal’s NBL season when they travel to Palmerston North to take on the Manawatu Jets this Thursday night.

The Supercity Rangers first home game is against Canterbury Rams on Saturday April 20th at AUT Sports Centre, Akoranga Drive, Northcote – tip-off at 7.00pm.
