In another positive move for the Sal’s NBL ahead of season 2019 tipping off this Thursday night, globally recognised basketball brand And1 has signed on as the league’s Official Footwear Partner for the next three years.
And1 will join forces with the NBL in a positive move to bring another traditional basketball brand to the league.
“And1 is globally one of the biggest basketball brands, it is a brand that represents the fans and comes with a strong culture of making the game fun and exciting for all players at all levels,” said NBL General Manager, Justin Nelson.
“The And1 brand and its ever-increasing range of quality basketball footwear and will soon be returning to New Zealand’s retail market and we wanted to make sure our league was at the forefront of being a part of that.”
“It’s an exciting partnership, we can’t wait to see New Zealanders wearing a pair of And1’s once again,” Nelson added.
In announcing the new three-year partnership, And1 Managing Director David Griffin said the return to New Zealand was “exciting and comes at a time when basketball is going through unprecedented growth across the country.”
“And1 is a global basketball brand and we are excited to be supporting New Zealand’s NBL for the next three years. The sport is experiencing unprecedented growth and we want to support that growth by bringing out a range of footwear specially designed for the courts.
“Our focus will be on grassroots and ensuring young players across New Zealand have access to high quality basketball footwear.”
