The Sal's NBL is throwing the doors open at Horncastle Arena in Christchurch on Friday July 19 with fans invited to see all four Final 4 teams on court training and going through their final preparations for the weekend's action.
The Wellington Saints, Canterbury Rams, Hawke's Bay Hawks and Southland Sharks are already locked in and preparing for their assault on this year's title, and all four teams will be at Horncastle Arena for their final training session on Friday July 19.
"The Final 4 is the biggest weekend of the Sal's NBL season and we wanted to say thank you to the most important people in our league, the fans. Friday July 19 will be free entry for all the fans, they can come and watch the teams on court preparing for their most important games of the year," said GM, Justin Nelson.
"It's school holidays as well, so we especially want all the kids across Christchurch to get off the couch, get out of the house and go and see some of the very best basketball players in New Zealand, and from around the world. I'm sure they might also be able get an autograph or photo with the stars of the league."
The Friday schedule at the Final 4 will see all four teams on court training for 75 minutes, with 30 of those minutes in each session open to the general public to come and see the league's best players going through their last training session.

"We want the Final 4 to be about the fans, this is their weekend to come and enjoy the biggest few days of the Sal's NBL season and what better way to start than by having a free chance on Friday to see all four teams on court.
"At the start of the season we declared the Sal's NBL a fans-first league and this is just another sign that we are walking the talk. The chance to see the four best teams going through their last training session before the Final 4 is an opportunity not to be missed," Nelson added.

In further good news for the fans, the NBL recently announced that the World Cup (Naismith Trophy) will be on display and available for supporters to take their photo with basketball's most prized team award. The Tall Blacks will be competing at this year's World Cup with no less than 13 Sal's NBL players currently in the New Zealand squad.
