The Mike Pero Nelson Giants have continued their recruitment of New Zealand’s bright young talent with the acquisition of Tall Blacks Tyrell Harrison and Kruz Perrott-Hunt.
Both players made their senior debuts in 2018 and will look to help their new teammates go one better than last year in their push for the NBL title.
Harrison arrives in Nelson off the back of two years with the Brisbane Bullets in the ANBL and will provide coach Mike Fitchett with a 7ft frame and the ability to play above the rim.
Eighteen-year-old Perrott-Hunt hopes to bring winning ways to the top of the South Island having just left school a back-to-back national secondary schools champion with Rosmini College.
A member of this past season’s Breaker’ development squad, the silky guard’s basketball prowess will be seen on both ends of the court.
Perrott-Hunt will spend the season with the Giants before heading to America on a basketball scholarship at the University of South Dakota.
The 2019 Sal’s NBL begins on Thursday April 11 with the Giants opening their campaign on Saturday 13 April against the Taranaki Steelformers Mountainairs.
