We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join our Game Day Social Media team for the 2026 Sal’s NBL season. This is an exciting opportunity for people passionate about basketball, social media, and digital storytelling to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced professional sports environment.
As a Game Day Social Media Volunteer, you will help bring the action to life across the league’s digital platforms. The role includes publishing game updates and website stories, sharing engaging social content, and helping connect with fans in real time throughout the season.

Grow revenue for all stakeholders at all levels
Build tribal fandom centred on entertainment and engagement
Strengthen the brands and profiles of the Leagues, teams, players, and partners throughout New Zealand and globally
Strong understanding of social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, X and YouTube
Ability to work in a fast-paced, live game environment
Excellent written communication skills
Passion for basketball and digital content
Experience with Canva or similar graphic design tools is preferred, but not required
Content creation and publishing: Post game day content across Sal’s NBL social media channels, including pre-game updates, live game coverage, and post-game recaps
Fan engagement: Monitor and respond to fan interactions across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X and YouTube
Live game updates: Share key moments, starting line-ups, scores, and highlights in real time
Media support: Assist with distributing post-game results and recap content to media outlets
Live monitoring: Help track audience engagement and social media activity throughout games
