Nuggets Perez Sanctioned

The Sal's National Basketball League Games Review Commissioner (GRC) has reviewed multiple incidents involving Jose Perez that occurred during and following the game between the Auckland Tuatara and Otago Nuggets on the 30th of April 2025 in Auckland.

Jose Perez was cited for classifiable offenses, namely:

a) Excessive disputing of various game official's decisions

b) Approaching a referee after a game in an aggressive manner

The GRC has found that Jose Perez's actions amount to breaches pursuant to the NBL Tribunal Policy and has ruled that they are classifiable offenses.

The GRC has issued an overall sanction across both offenses of a $1,000 fine, which would be reduced to $500 with an early plea, and and a 1 match suspension, which itself is suspended pending no further complaints of unsatisfactory conduct towards referees during the 2025 Otago Nuggets campaign.

An early plea was entered and accepted, reducing the fine to $500.

This matter is now concluded with the player available for all team activities moving forward.
