Jamie Reddish (Bulls)

We are looking forward to playing the Nuggets for the first time this season. Moss and Timmins are playing some great basketball and Brent has the team firing. We will need to rebound well to stay competitive in this game. We have played some good basketball ourselves over the past 3 games, we are just focusing on what makes us good and trying to replicate that as much as possible. Back at home this week in front of fans, partners and sponsors will be something to look forward to.

Brent Matehaere (Nuggets)

The proximity of Meremere dragway must have been the inspiration for the way the Bulls play!  They are a high octane team with multiple 3 point shooting threats.  Their two punch imports Waterman and Selby are generating huge numbers and will be difficult to slow down.  This will be the Nuggets first trip to the Bulls home court in what appears to have a cauldron like atmosphere.  This should be an exciting game with both teams' love of throwing lob passes.  End to end above the rim action!

Wellington Saints vs Sky Tower Auckland Huskies

When: Friday May 28

Where: TSB Bank Arena

Time: 7:30pm

Broadcast: Live on Sky Sport 3

Zico Coronel (Saints)

Can today’s Saints surpass yesterday’s Saints? Every time we step on the court, whether it be practice or a game, we aim to collectively enhance our performance level. The Huskies will aid us in pursuit of this ever present goal. Well coached by Aaron Young and featuring a strong roster, the impending matchup is sure to require our best performance if we are to be successful. We look forward to entertaining another capacity crowd at TSB Arena in Wellington. In particular we’re grateful for the support of our game day sponsor Boulcott Suites

Aaron Young (Huskies)

Looking ahead to an action-packed weekend for us, where we match up against the undefeated Saints & fly home the next day to take on the Nuggets at home Saturday night.  It’s a great challenge for us, considering our recent struggles with our latest doubleheader a few weeks ago. We have learned a lot from that road trip and I expect us to be better on the road come Friday. We introduce Justin Bibbs to our roster this week and excited to see the impact he can make on both ends.

Mike Pero Nelson Giants vs Taylor Hawke's Bay Hawks

When: Saturday May 29

Where: Trafalgar Centre

Time: 7:30pm

Broadcast: Live on Sky Sport Pop-Up 1

Mike Fitchett (Giants)

After a taxing round 4, we are glad to be starting our home stretch this Saturday night against the Hawks. The Hawks will be a different unit from the one we played in Round 2, with Walker back from injury and former Giant Rhys Vague having joined the team. The Hawks are a frontrunner for the title this year, so this will be a huge test for us and another good indicator of where we sit in the hierarchy of the league.

Jacob Chance (Hawks)

Another tough challenge for us again this week. Heading back on the road and seeing 2 quality outfits in Nelson & Canterbury, who we have both already played this season. Our focus this week has been controlling some key areas on the defensive end and while we saw some positive signs this past weekend, our key is to be consistent and keep building in some important fundamental areas.  Both the Giants and the Rams present some unique challenges and each have a lot of talent, so for us to get results on the road it is important we nail the little things and keep building through the middle part of the year. The guys are eager to get back into the winners circle and hopefully we can do that.

Steelformers Taranaki Airs vs SIT Zero Fees Southland Sharks

When: Saturday May 29

Where: TSB Stadium

Time: 7:30pm

Broadcast: Live on Sky Sport Next, Stuff.co.nz, NZNBL Website, Tribe Sports App

Trent Adam (Airs)

After a disappointing 4th quarter against the Jets last week, we are looking forward to getting in front of our home fans again when the Sharks come to town on Saturday. The night is going to be a great occasion, with the Club paying tribute to the late Steve “Coach” McKean. A very special man to our region, and to our sport. With the Sharks coming off a good home win they will be looking to carry that momentum on. With a traditional style of play that Bevo looks to implement, the Sharks are one of the top teams in forced turnovers. This will be a key area of the game we will have to tighten up in order to come away with the home win.

Rob Berveridge (Sharks)

With another double header road trip ahead this weekend against Taranaki and Manawatu it again will be a challenge for us to try and get 2 wins on the road.  Last time we played Taranaki we were lucky to get away with a 2 point win on our home court, so it will be super important for us to be totally focused and disciplined to execute for the full game.  It will be important to try and slow down the bigs of Marcel Jones and Tai Wynyard if we are going to have a chance of winning.

Three nights in Auckland is not 44 but it will be great to get North and see some of the familiar sights of Auckland.  A visit to our friend Giapo is high on the priority list and with Dunedin musician TJ Zimba stepping on the stage in the popstars finale there is plenty to keep us engaged on the mini break between games.  Our focus is solely on preparing for a Huskies team that got out of the gates really quickly and has a plethora of local talent in their mix.  Add to this a new import Justin Bibbs along with Chris Johnson this matchup is just the challenge we are looking for.

Where: Cowles Stadium

Broadcast: Live on Sky Sport 9

Mick Downer (Rams)

This week we welcome the return match against the high flying Hawks who venture down to the south island on a back to back this round against the Giants and then ourselves. Our opponents have recently added a familiar face in Australian import Rhys Vague to their line-up and of course we’ll see the return of former Rams stalwart Ethan Rusbatch. The Hawks outplayed us on their home court in round one but both teams have evolved in recent weeks and although we’ve lost the services of Jack Salt with a short term minor injury, the team has adjusted and shown a steely resolve with recent home victories. We thank our amazing fans and the support they bring to our group, best 6th man in the league.

Where: Fly Palmy Arena

Time: 5:00pm

Broadcast: Live on Sky Sport 8

Tim McTamney (Jets)

After an improved performance (and our first win) last Sunday, we are looking to build on our progress this weekend. We take on a significant challenge in the Southland Sharks and are looking forward to another big home crowd at Fly Palmy Arena this Sunday.

Rob Beveridge (Sharks)

We have been really happy with the progress that we are making as a team and we are getting more consistent and starting to understand our roles as players and play well as a team.  With having a game the night before against Taranaki and travelling in on game day, it is important that we try and get ready physically and mentally for team that will be well prepared for us.  Manawatu had a very good win the previous week so will go into the game full of confidence.
