
Leagues are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our Game Day Social Media team for the 2025 Sal’s NBL season. This is an exciting opportunity for those passionate about basketball, social media, and digital content creation to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced sports environment.
As a Game Day Social Media Volunteer, you’ll play a key role in bringing the action to life across the league’s digital platforms. Responsibilities include posting game updates and news stories on the Sal’s NBL website, sharing engaging content on social media, and interacting with fans in real time.
To be the most entertaining, innovative, and sustainable pro sports leagues in New Zealand.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, live-game environment.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Passion for basketball and digital content.
• Experience with Canva or similar graphic design tools (preferred but not required).
• Content Creation and Management: Publish game day content across Sal’s NBL social media channels, including pre-game updates, live game highlights, and post-game recaps.
• Fan Engagement: Monitor and respond to fan interactions on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), and YouTube.
• Game Updates: Share key moments, starting lineups, scores, and highlight clips in real time.
• Media Coordination: Distribute post-game results and recaps to media outlets.
• Live Monitoring: Assist in tracking social media trends and audience engagement throughout the game.
• Gain real-world experience in social media and digital marketing for a professional sports league.
• Work with the Sal’s NBL team and develop industry connections.
• Be part of growing the game of basketball in New Zealand.
