Marlborough will play host to pre-season basketball this coming month, in the build-up to the 2019 Sal’s NBL season.
The Hunter’s Wine Southern Blitz will see the Mike Pero Giants, Wheeler Motor Company Canterbury Rams and Cigna Wellington Saints face off across the 2-day event on April 5 and 6.
The two-day event gives each team the opportunity to test the waters and scout a few of their opposition before the Sal’s NBL season opens the following week.
The first contest is between the Giants and Saints on Friday April 5 at 7pm, the Saints will then play the Rams on Saturday April 6 at 10am before the Rams face off against the Giants at 7pm.
Tickets are available from the Marlborough Lines Stadium 2000. Entry will cost adults $20 and children $10. Doors open 45 minutes before tip-off.
The Sal’s NBL season begins on Thursday April 11 when the Go Media Manawatu Jets face off against the 2 Cheap Cars Supercity Rangers in Palmerston North.
