Won the ‘A’ Secondary Schools National title with Opunake High School in 2017. Named Tournament MVP at the Championships.

Played for Sacred Heart Girls College, New Plymouth at the 2019 ‘AA’ Secondary Schools National championship and named to the Tournament Team.

Vanessa Weir

Played for the Thunder team that finished runners-up to Canterbury Wildcats in the WBC 2017 Grand Final.

Weir (nee McCarthy) is a talented sportswoman having represented Taranaki at netball, indoor netball and 7’s rugby as well as basketball.

Played for the NZ team at the Indoor Netball World Cup where she was named MVP after NZ won gold in the six-a-side format.

Weir has a one-year old daughter McKenzie.
