Played all 7 games for the New Zealand team that finished 4th at the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup in Turkey – averaged 12.7 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.

Led Wellington College to the 2023 Secondary Schools National Championships title and to 4th place at the 2024 tournament – named to the Tournament Team at both events.

Comes from a rugby playing family. Father John coached the Hurricanes, Wellington and was an assistant coach with the All Blacks while brother Taine is a Welsh international.

Rangimarie ‘Marnie’ Dougall-Mita

Dougall-Mita played 19 games for the Saints in 2024 averaging 4.0ppg – scored a season high 15 points against Manawatu Jets in Round 11.

Was the leading scorer for the Saints in the 2024 Rapid League scoring 136 points in 19 games. His 18 points against the Sharks was the highest single game score by a Saints player.

Had made 86 NBL appearances prior to the start of the 2025 season – 62 of those for the Saints. Scored a career high 19 points against the Sharks in April 2022.

He missed the 2020 season while recovering from an ACL injury.

Was a standout for the Saints team that finished runners-up in the 3×3 Cup in 2023. He was named to the All-Star 4 after finishing as the leading scorer at the Cup.

Played for New Zealand at the U18 3X3 World Cup in China in 2017.

Named to the 2024 Rapid League All-Star Five – scored a season high 13 points against the Airs, playing 17 games and tallying 127 points.

Played for South Adelaide Panthers in NBL1 Central in 2022.

Named MVP at 2020 U17 National Championships after leading Waikato to the title.

Has played six seasons in the Australian NBL: Illawarra Hawks (2019-20), Cairns Taipans (2020-21), Adelaide 36ers (2021-23) and most recently the Perth Wildcats (2023-25). 

Played 25 games  for the Wildcats in 2024-25 as they went all the way to the semi-finals before losing to Melbourne United.

Played 11 of the 13 games played by the Tall Blacks in the 2023 calendar year including 4 games at the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

Ili has the distinction of winning five New Zealand NBL titles and two Australian NBL championships.

His first NZNBL title was with Auckland Pirates in 2012, his second in 2015 with the Southland Sharks and in 2016, 2017 and 2019 with Wellington Saints. Named to the NBL All-Star Five in 2019.

Playing for Melbourne United has won the Damien Martin Trophy for the Best Defensive Player in the ANBL in both 2024 and 2025. Melbourne United. Also won the Most Improved Player Award in 2018 playing for the NZ Breakers.

Has won ANBL titles with NZ Breakers in 2015 and Melbourne United in 2021.

Has played a total of 126 NBL games, 78 with Wellington Saints.

For the Tall Blacks:

Averaged 10.4 points and 5.0 assists during the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China – led the Tall Blacks in assists at the tournament.

Was a member of the bronze medal winning team at the 2018 Commonwealth Games averaging 13.2ppg and 4.6apg. Scored 23 points in the semi-final loss to Canada.

Was named in the Tournament Team at the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup after an outstanding tournament in which he averaged 15.4 points and 5.8 assists per game.

Nick Marshall

Izayah Mauriohooho-Le’afa

Played 14 games for the Saints in 2024 averaging 22 points and 5.9assists per game – scored a season high 35 points against both Auckland Tuatara in Round 10 and Franklin Bulls in Round 12 of NBL ‘24.

Scored a career high 39 points against the Rams in 2020.

Has made 81 NBL appearances prior to the 2025 season.

At just 16 years and 262 days he became the second youngest player (after Tai Wynyard) to put on a Tall Blacks singlet when debuting in 2013.

Played all 5 games for the Tall Blacks at the 2023 FIBA World Cup averaging 12.8 points, 3.6 assists and 2.2 steals per game. Most recently played against the Philippines in an Asia Cup Qualifier at Spark Arena in February, 2025 – has made 27 appearances for the Tall Blacks.

Has played 153 games in his five-year Australian NBL career to date. His first two seasons were with South East Melbourne Phoenix, the next two with the New Zealand Breakers and the 2024-25 season with Sydney Kings. 

Following high school headed to Sacramento State University on a 4-year scholarship. He finished his Hornets career in 2020 as a Top 10 programme leader in a variety of statistical categories including second in starts (108), fourth in steals (149), sixth in 3-pointers made (187) and eighth in assists (302). His 941 career points ranks 20th all-time for SSU.

Scored a team high 18 points for St Pat’s Silverstream in the Wellington School’s Championship (Pholen Trophy) Grand Final win over Wellington in 2022. It was  the first time the school had won the trophy – also runners-up in 2023.
